My Story

By way of introduction, my name is Lucas P. Frei and I am licensed to practice law in Arizona and Colorado.  I possess a B.S. Degree in Humanities from Northern Arizona University, a J.D. Degree from Arizona State University, and an LL.M. Degree in Taxation from the University of Denver.

Before attending Law School, I worked for the better part of a decade in the restaurant industry, having worked my way up to management.  It is here that I learned how to provide a high level of service.

During Law School, I completed internships at the Department of Homeland Security, and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.  Outside of these internships, I concentrated my studies on legal writing and business law.  I enjoyed my time as an intern.  I was able to go to court often and I learned from several experienced attorneys.

After law school, I was admitted to the Masters in Taxation LL.M. Program at the University of Denver.  This program allowed me to take high level tax law courses at the law school for another year after my time at ASU.  During my time there, I worked for several small law firms in the Denver area and was able to meet and network with many fantastic attorneys.

At the end of the LL.M. program, I immediately found myself working at a firm in Denver alongside 30 other attorneys, performing high-end tax work.  Through all of these experiences, I have learned from some of the best in the business, and have been able to utilize my education to truly help people whom find themselves in a bind.  I have seen where other firms have fallen short, and I have seen law firm approaches that have worked fantastically.  I understand that mistakes happen, and I understand that much of the general population still does not have sufficient access to legal representation, especially in the realm of tax.

It is this experience, education, and employment that have ultimately led me to starting The Law Offices of Lucas P. Frei, PLLC. I am truly here to help those who can benefit from my services.  Along the way, I have rekindled my interest in Criminal Defense work, and I enjoy helping people navigate the often burdensome legal system.  I am able to offer individualized payment plans and pricing options.  I also pride myself on the level of service I can provide.  I am approachable, and I make myself available to each of my clients by phone and email, and it is my promise to keep you updated on your tax matter and to reply to requests for contact in an expedient manner.

Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding a free consultation.  I look forward to hearing from you.

My Approach

Experience has dictated my approach to legal representation.  Every situation is unique and requires different attention, and thus a new plan.  The first thing I always do in any legal matter is collect as much information as I can possibly get.  This includes the client’s perspective, copies of documents, correspondence, and returns, and culminates with a call to the IRS or the opposing party to to retrieve all of the data they have on the situation.  From here, I develop a plan of attack to mitigate financial damages or penalties, and to provide a path to financial stability and savings.  Throughout this process, my interactions with the IRS, opposing parties, and the authorities are planned, contrived, and administered with professionalism and client goals in mind.  I do not simply push papers and accept pleas.  I hold taxing authorities to the law and plan each move with appeals and tax court in mind. I know when the facts dictate that we should take a plea, or when they dictate that we should fight. I am not afraid to push and I do not settle for incompetence.

In Closing, I look forward to the opportunity to earn your business.  I look forward to your call, and to representing you in your legal matters.  Please do not hesitate to call.  480-366-5815.
